Establishing your Health Vision for your BEST 2024

I hope that all is well your way as we are approaching Christmas and the New Year rapidly!! I want to ask you a question. What’s your Health Vision for 2024?

Before entering a healthcare profession, I didn’t realize how important it was to prioritize my health. In college, work-life balance was a foreign concept and definitely not one that I really understood. Fortunately, I had someone in my life who helped me establish the basics of organizing my time, prioritizing assignments, and leaving space for free time. This was helpful in ensuring I didn’t get too overwhelmed. I didn’t spend time focusing in on my health and taking an introspective look at the different dimensions of my wellness like social, emotional, spiritual, mental, physical, etc. As I have continued to grow personally and professionally, I have realized how important it is to prioritize my health and have a strategy for proactive maintenance. In this post today, I want to share some prompts to consider to establish your own Personal Health Vision for 2024. I suggest writing these prompts in a notebook you dedicate to your health. Some of my clients have included their notes from our sessions in books they use for daily devotionals to keep these things in view. This may be a great place to record your answers to the following prompts as well.

10 Questions to Establish Your Health Vision

  1. How do you want to feel stepping into the New Year (more energetic, happy, fit, encouraged, upbeat)? 
  2. What do you want your thoughts to be? 
  3. How do you want to look (polished, confident, established, sure)? 
    1. Now, this question is not meant to focus solely on aesthetics in a vain sense, but on how you wish to present yourself to the world and interact with those around you. 
  4. How many hours of sleep do you want to get each night? 
  5. What types of foods do you want to eat and why? 
  6. Would you like to incorporate some level of fasting into your weekly or monthly health regimen? 
  7. How many days and how much time will you dedicate to being active and getting exercise inside or outside the home? 
  8. How often will you go outside to get some fresh air? 
  9. How much time will you dedicate to self-care – daily, weekly, monthly? 
  10. What will you do for fun with friends and family? 

These are just some prompts to get you thinking about establishing your Health Vision for 2024! Stay tuned for part 2!
