“New Year, New You” – Coaching Call Recap

January 23, 2025

Here are some nuggets and transcript excerpts from our most recent Coaching Call, “New Year, New You”. Check back here on this blog post for the YouTube link so that you can listen in! I hope you enjoy!

“I can’t begin this discussion with you tonight without first talking about how God created us human beings. We are three dimensional persons composed of the body, the spirit, and the soul. The soul being our mind, our will, and our emotions.

When it comes to wellness goal setting or health goal setting, it is important to consider how we were made and formed first so that we can then set relevant, realistic, and balanced goals that will set us up for holistic wellness success.

I want to define wellness for you so that you can have a foundation for the types of goals that will be most beneficial for you to set as it relates to actively maintaining your health.

The Global Wellness Institute defines Wellness as “the active pursuit of activities, choices, and lifestyles that lead to a state of holistic health”.

So, personally, can you think of any activities, choices, or lifestyle that is going to help you achieve optimal health this year?

I’m going to give you some of my top wellness tips, but before I “spill the beans” – I want you to brainstorm and think about some things that come to mind that you want to incorporate or continue incorporating in your life that are promoting wellness and then I also want you to ask yourself the question of, “What needs to leave?” In order to make room for the new, we have to be willing to ditch or get rid of what is not working. Now when I say this I am not talking about your spouse or your kids or other people in particular. I am talking about YOUR OWN personal habits, routines, behaviors, and characteristics that need evaluating.”

On the call, we also talked about the importance of seeking specific and individual guidance for your health, wellness, and nutrition needs. As an individual, you are unique and your specific body chemistry, emotional and mental state, nutritional state require personalized guidance for proper maintenance, healing and wholeness.

Here are the following Health Tips and Habits I recommend that you include in your 2025 Health and wellness journey. For more details on how to make these habits a reality in your life, check back on this blog post for the YouTube link to listen to the full coaching call episode and for personalized guidance, you can sign-up for my client waiting list here!! You will be glad you did! 🙂

Tip/Habit: #1 – Pray. Make your Request known to the Lord!

Philippians 4:6-7, AMPC

Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Tip/ Habit: #2 – Rest. Take a seat down in your soul AND get quality, uninterrupted physical rest.

As a functional nutrition specialist, my general sleep recommendation for adults is 8-9 hours a night, uninterrupted. If you find your sleep quality is poor, often interrupted, and you wake up tired often – I recommend getting to the root of what is causing this discomfort. In this coaching call episode, I offer some simple, no cost solutions to getting better sleep that you can start doing today!

Tip/ Habit #3: Detox. That’s right, mental, emotional, and physical detoxes are necessary for an abundant life.

Tip/Habit #4: Renew your Mind.

Romans 12:1-2 amp

1 Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship.

2 And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].

Tip/Habit #5: Fasting. A spiritual and physical discipline that helps to rejuvenate the body, spirit, and soul (mind, will, emotions).

We talked about Intermittent fasting and example schedules you can incorporate into your life.

Tip/Habit #6: Eat Real Food! Eat the food groups, not the processed chemicals and food additives.

The traditional food groups are Vegetables, Fruits, Nuts & Seeds, Grains, Legumes, Meat, Fish or Seafood.

I recommend you optimize your nutrition this year by choosing more plant based whole foods that will give your body natural energy and vitality.

Tip/Habit #7: Cast your Cares on the Lord!

Pro tip for handling stress, Psalm 55:22,

“ Cast your burden on the Lord [release it] and He will sustain and uphold you;
He will never allow the righteous to be shaken (slip, fall, fail).”

On the call, we discuss how to cast your care, as well as additional practical measures for regulating a healthy stress responses such as journaling, walking, and MORE! For the specifics, you can listen to the replay here, once it goes live on YouTube.

If you want,

  • More Energy
